CALLING ALL PARENTS!  Wyoming PSA welcomes your involvement, whether you’re a new or experienced volunteer.

Leadership Opportunities

  • PSA President-Elect – Shadows current PSA President to become PSA President the following year
  • PSA Treasurer – Handles all financial aspects of the organization including Kroger Rewards program
  • PSA Assistant Treasurer – Assists the PSA Treasurer
  • PSA Secretary – Records minutes at PSA meetings
  • Website Administrator – Manages PSA website, Membership/Fundraising forms, and PSA emails

Parent Advisory Committee

  • Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Chair – Oversees team of PAC reps and coordinates monthly meetings with school administrators (note: this is a 2 YEAR commitment)
  • Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Rep* – Organizes homeroom parents, assists with grade level events, attends monthly meetings with school administrators and acts as a liaison between the schools, PSA and parents (note: for the Primary PAC Reps, this is a 2 YEAR commitment)

PSA Fundraising Committees

Unless otherwise noted, proceeds from the following PSA Fundraising Committees are deposited into PSA’s general fund, then used for technology purchases, enrichment programs, classroom needs, student organizations and other funding requests:

  • Starting Back to School Supply Sale (Primary) – Orders for school supplies are taken in May for the following school year then distributed in August
  • Box Tops for Education – Box tops are collected from the Primary schools and Board of Ed office and redeemed for cash during the school year
  • May Fete – A large leadership team oversees every aspect this annual carnival held in May including rides, games and food
  • May Fete Coordinator – Supports the leadership team by organizing meetings and distributing information
  • Odds & Ends – Fundraising opportunities including retail promotions, restaurant eat-ins (percentage of sales given to PSA for one night), etc. are organized and promoted to the public
  • Student Directory Coordinator – The Student Directory is an annual publication and fundraiser for the WHS sophomore class to help pay for prom the following year and contains contact information for student families, school staff/administrators, homeroom parents and PAC reps, a map of Wyoming and advertisements from local businesses
  • Student Directory Database Manager – Oversees the database and inputs information
  • Student Directory Solicitations – Secures advertisements from local businesses and oversees request for donations from 10th grade families

PSA Service Committees

PSA Service Committees support Wyoming student families and, in many cases, the entire Wyoming community:

  • Blue Ribbon Gowns (WHS) – A rental source for the white attire required for WHS graduation; familiarity with the WHS graduation process is helpful
  • Hospitality – Volunteers set up refreshments at school open houses, principal coffees and PSA annual meetings
  • Lariat Editor/Lariat Designer – Each month, these individuals work together to edit, layout and distribute the Lariat, PSA’s electronic newsletter
  • Membership – Oversees PSA membership by collecting membership forms and dues, also works with the Student Directory committee in the fall to provide membership data
  • Publicity – Works with PSA committee chairs to publicize PSA events and organizes promotion of all May Fete activities
  • Staff Appreciation Event – an annual event for teachers, administrators and staff of Wyoming City Schools (currently a luncheon held at WHS the day before school opens to students)

*PAC Reps are appointed by the PSA President-Elect and PAC Chairs.
